One of the most common questions I get when reviewing a patient’s scans or posture is:
“So… what caused all this?”
Now, as much as we’d love to blame one accident or event — the truth is, most spinal issues don’t come from one thing.
They’re the result of accumulated stress over years. Not just the physical, but also the chemical and emotional.
D.D. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, actually laid this out beautifully. He called them the Three T’s:
________________________________________
🔹 1. Traumas – Physical Stress
We’re talking about injuries and strain — both big events like car accidents, and the repetitive, silent stuff like sitting at a desk, poor posture, or lifting your toddler every day.
Often, it’s not the last straw that breaks the camel’s back — it’s all the micro-strains before it.
So when someone says, “I threw my back out sneezing”, it wasn’t the sneeze — it was months or years of uncorrected spinal stress building up.
👉 Chiropractic helps uncover and correct these hidden misalignments before they become serious.

🔹 2. Toxins – Chemical Stress
These are the substances we take in — like processed food, medications, alcohol — and even internal toxins from inflammation and stress.
If your body can’t filter these out, they build up, causing brain fog, fatigue, chronic inflammation, and even degenerative changes in the spine if the tissue isn’t properly hydrated and nourished.
👉 Regular chiropractic care helps support your nervous system’s ability to regulate and detox, so your body can heal better.

🔹 3. Thoughts – Emotional Stress
We often forget this one, but mental stress directly changes your posture and your physiology.
When you’re anxious or overwhelmed, your body tightens up — shoulders rise, jaw clenches, breathing shallows. Over time, this creates chronic tension in the spine and nervous system.
Even worse, stress hormones delay healing and rob your body of rest.
👉 Chiropractic adjustments calm the nervous system, shifting you from survival to healing mode.

✅ So what does all this mean?
Your spine reflects your life.
The Three T’s — Traumas, Toxins, and Thoughts — add up over time. They interfere with the nervous system, which controls every cell and organ.
That’s why we say:
💥 “Don’t wait for the symptom — fix the system.”
So ask yourself:
• What trauma has my body endured recently or over time?
• Am I feeding it toxins, or nourishing it?
• Are my thoughts helping me heal… or holding me back?
At Robina Chiropractic Wellness Centre, we don’t patch the problem — we get to the root.
